In celebration of its 31st anniversary, Polman Negeri Babel instills social media ethics through a PPKPT seminar.
As part of the 31st anniversary celebrations of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel), the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT) held a seminar on Social Media Ethics at the Joint Lecture Building on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Prior to the seminar, the PPKPT Task Force also provided psychological counseling services with two experts: Okta Brinna, S.Psi., M.Psi., and Rakhmawati Tri Lestari, M.Psi. This activity is part of the campus's efforts to support the mental health of employees and students.
The seminar was attended by all Polman Babel employees, with psychologist Okta Brinna, S.Psi., M.Psi. as the main resource. This event also concluded the series of counseling services that ran from October 13-16, 2025.
Previously, the counseling service attracted 26 participants, including students and employees. After going through the verification process, 22 participants officially received a consultation session facilitated by the PPKPT Task Force.

In her presentation, resource person Okta Brinna presented various materials on forms of violence, both physical and psychological, which often occur unnoticed in the workplace and on social media. "Violence isn't always visible. Much of it occurs through words, writing, or behavior online," she said.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining ethics in interacting on social media. "Social media can be a positive tool if used wisely, but it can also have negative impacts if used without control and empathy," he explained.
In addition to the presentation, participants were also encouraged to self-reflect through a questionnaire distributed directly by the resource person. The questionnaire contained simple yet meaningful questions about their personality and how individuals respond to social situations around them.
"Through this questionnaire, participants can understand how they think and behave when facing conflict, both in the real world and on social media," added Okta.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Polman Babel PPKPT Task Force, Yang Fitri Arriyani, M.T., explained that this activity reflects the campus's need to create a healthy, safe, and violence-free work and learning environment.
"Through seminars like this, we want to foster awareness of digital ethics on campus," she explained.
In addition to this activity, the series of activities continued with a friendly gathering and meal in a friendly atmosphere, bringing together all Polman Babel employees and accompanying the lively celebration of Polman Babel's 31st Anniversary. full of meaning and family," he concluded.
