Campus Is Not a Place of Fear, Polman Negeri Babel Equips New Students with Violence Prevention Skills
Early in the afternoon, the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PPKMB) at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) was held again, with material rich in education and humanitarian values.
In this session, new students were provided with a crucial understanding of the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT). The event took place in the campus hall in an orderly and attentive atmosphere.
Participants appeared to be attentively following the presentation by the Head of the PPKPT Task Force at Polman Babel, Yang Fitri Arriyani, M.T. The material was deemed highly relevant to the current social conditions of students.
In her presentation, Yang Fitri explained in detail the legal basis for the establishment of the PPKPT Task Force, as stipulated in Ministerial Regulation Number 55 of 2024, specifically Article 28 paragraph 1, which regulates the task force's duties and functions within the campus environment.
She also highlighted the importance of understanding the forms of violence outlined in Article 7 paragraph 2, including physical and psychological violence, bullying, sexual violence, discrimination, and acts of intolerance that frequently occur in educational settings.
"Students must know their rights. They must have the courage to speak up if they experience or witness violence on campus," she emphasized.

"In addition to discussing forms of violence, he also explained the authority of the PPKPT Task Force to receive reports, provide assistance, and issue recommendations for sanctions in accordance with applicable procedures," he said.
This material opened up a space for active discussion between the presenter and participants. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and express their views on the issue of violence in higher education," he said.
One of the new students, Kevin, said he found the material very helpful. He believes topics like this are important for students to feel safe and comfortable while studying on campus.
"I just learned that there's a special team that can help if violence occurs on campus. This makes us feel more protected," he explained.
Furthermore, Kevin also expressed his interest in joining the PPKPT Task Force in the future. He hopes to contribute to creating a healthy, safe, and violence-free campus environment," he said.
