The PPKPT Task Force at Polman Negeri Babel Facilitates Free Psychological Consultations for Students and Staff
Recognizing the importance of mental health, the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel)—through its Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (Satgas PPKPT)—offered free psychological consultation services for students and staff. The sessions took place from October 12–16, 2026, on the second floor of the Joint Lecture Building.
The service featured psychologist Rakhmawati Tri Lestari, M.Psi., who provided professional support to the Polman Babel academic community. A total of 19 individuals—comprising 16 students and 3 staff members—participated in the consultations.
When contacted on Friday (October 16, 2026), Yang Fitri Arriyani, S.S.T., M.T.—head of the Polman Babel Satgas PPKPT and the event organizer—explained that these free psychological consultations reflect the institution’s commitment to supporting the mental well-being of its students and staff.
Through this initiative, the institution aims to emphasize that mental health is just as vital as physical health, acknowledging that everyone may encounter pressures and challenges in life—whether related to academics, work, family, or social relationships.
" The team provides a safe space for students and staff to access professional support whenever they need it," she added.

Furthermore, the PPKPT Task Force strives to help eliminate the stigma surrounding psychological consultation, encouraging more members of the academic community to seek assistance without feeling ashamed or fearing negative judgment from those around them," she explained.
She added that fostering a campus culture that cares about mental health must begin with awareness. Everyone deserves support, so there is no need to wait until a problem becomes overwhelming before speaking with a professional," she concluded.
Beyond serving as a space for consultation, this initiative provides students and staff with the opportunity to voice the challenges they face and receive guidance in understanding and managing various personal or social issues," she noted.
The issues that can be addressed through consultation include learning difficulties and academic concerns, stress, anxiety, life pressures, relationship and social problems, emotional states, and various other personal challenges," she stated.
She further emphasized that raising awareness about mental health is crucial for maintaining quality of life and productivity. Seeking professional help is not a sign of weakness; rather, it is a positive step toward self-discovery, confronting challenges, and finding appropriate solutions.
" Talking to a professional is a form of self-care," she said.
The Polman Babel PPKPT Task Force continues to promote a campus culture rooted in care, mutual respect, and support for every individual. A healthy educational environment is built not only through academic and professional achievements but also by paying attention to the psychological well-being of all students and staff," she asserted.
Through this initiative, it is hoped that students and staff will feel more comfortable seeking help when facing difficulties, rather than feeling compelled to handle every problem on their own. The Polman Babel PPKPT Task Force encourages the entire academic community to prioritize mental health, have the courage to seek support, and work together to create a campus environment that is safe, healthy, and mutually supportive," concluded Yang Fitri Arriyani.
