352 Babel State Polman Students Compete for Innovation at the Final Project Proposal Seminar Session
An examining lecturer is testing students in the final project proposal seminar session, providing input and direction to ensure that the proposed project has innovation value, usefulness and technical feasibility before proceeding to the construction stage.
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) again held a final project proposal seminar session for students. This activity took place from 4 to 7 February 2025 and was attended by hundreds of students from various study programs.
A total of 352 students from seven study programs participated in this session, with a total of 227 final project titles submitted.
The study programs involved include DIII Machine Maintenance and Repair Engineering (PPM), DIII Electronics Engineering (ELK), DIII Mechanical Design Engineering (PcM), DIV Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (TMM), DIV Electronics Engineering (STE), DIV Software Engineering Technology (RPL), and DIV Manufacturing Design Engineering Technology (RPM).
Chairman of the Final Project Commission, Muhammad Yunus, M.T., said that this proposal seminar was an important stage for students in determining their final project. "With this seminar, prospective supervisors and examiners can direct students to choose titles that not only have a high level of usefulness for science and technology (science and technology), but also for institutions and society," he said on Monday (10/02/2025).
"According to Yunus, this proposal seminar is also a forum for students to express their creativity and innovation. It is hoped that the resulting final project can be a solution to real problems that exist in industry and the surrounding environment," he added.
More than just an academic formality, this seminar is a proving ground for students to apply the knowledge they have learned during their studies. Yunus hopes that students will be able to create work that is effective and has a positive impact on technological and industrial development.
This proposal seminar is not just an academic exam, but also a learning process that requires students to think critically and find solutions. "With a fairly large and diverse number of participants, this trial is clear evidence of Polman Babel in producing graduates who are competent and ready to compete in the world of work," he said.
In the future, it is hoped that the final projects produced by Polman Babel students can make a real contribution to technological and industrial development, both at the local and national levels. "With the spirit of innovation and creativity, students are expected to be able to create solutions that are useful and applicable to the wider community," said Yunus.
One of the students from the DIV Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering study program, Riska, revealed the experiences and challenges she faced during the proposal seminar session. He said that this stage was the first step in completing the final project before facing the final trial and finally graduation.
"This trial is the first challenge for us in holding responsibility for project ideas in front of supervisors and examiners. From here, we can get input to perfect the project we will be working on," said Riska.
