Applied Bachelor’s Students in Digital Business at Polman Negeri Babel Hone Competencies Through Product Exhibitions and Live Selling
At the conclusion of the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, the Digital Business Applied Bachelor’s Study Program—part of the Informatics and Business Department at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic—held a product exhibition and live-selling event. Spanning two days (July 9–10, 2026), the event showcased various downstream products and featured digital platform-based promotions, all stemming from the program's Project-Based Learning curriculum.
The exhibition was the result of a collaboration between three courses: Marketing Business Communication (MBC), taught by Lamia Eva Rini, MBA; and E-Commerce and Business Digital Project, taught by Septiana Sihombing, M.Si.

Lamia Eva Rini, MBA, the lecturer for Marketing Business Communication, explained that this cross-course approach serves as a vocational learning strategy. It bridges academic competence with industry practice, ensuring that each stage of learning reinforces the others to create a comprehensive student learning experience.
Eva noted that the Marketing Business Communication course enables students to formulate marketing communication strategies, design exhibition concepts, and produce promotional materials—such as brochures and publicity content—while also honing their business communication and product promotion skills and fostering direct interaction with potential customers.
"This experience equips students to become graduates who are competent in facing the challenges of the digital industry," she added.

Meanwhile, Septiana Sihombing, M.Si., the lecturer for the E-Commerce and Digital Business Project course, explained that students manage the marketing of various downstream products and learn to develop online stores, implement digital marketing strategies, and provide customer service. They also create various digital assets—such as promotional videos, packaging designs, copywriting, logos, and brand identities—all integrated into a single digital business ecosystem," she concluded.
As the highlight of the event, students conducted live sales sessions on TikTok directly from the exhibition venue to promote products in real-time, build consumer trust, and enhance their communication and negotiation abilities. This also allowed them to hone digital sales skills, which have become essential in the technology-driven economy," she emphasized.
Indah Riezky Pratiwi, M.Pd., Head of the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Digital Business, expressed hope that similar activities would be further developed in the coming years. She envisions the exhibitions expanding beyond the campus of Polman Babel—the leading vocational institution in Bangka Belitung—to include shopping malls, public spaces, tourist areas, and various events hosted by local governments and industry partners. The goal is to create an increasingly relevant learning ecosystem capable of producing economically valuable work and building professional portfolios, while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and preparing students to contribute to the digital economy and the downstream processing of flagship products in Bangka Belitung Province," Indah asserted.
