Polman Negeri Babel, Becomes BTIKP's First Destination to Discuss Teacher Training Programs
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) received a visit from the Educational Information and Communication Technology Center (BTIKP) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Education Office. The meeting took place in the director's meeting room on Wednesday (April 22, 2026).
This visit was the first meeting between BTIKP Babel and Polman Babel to discuss opportunities for collaboration in the field of teacher competency improvement, particularly in the information technology sector.
The BTIKP delegation was welcomed by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., along with lecturers, the Head of the Academic Subdivision, and a team from the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) of the National Board of Education (BNSP), who also attended the discussion.

In his remarks, I Made Andik Setiawan expressed his appreciation for the visit and emphasized Polman Babel's readiness to support the training program for teachers initiated by BTIKP with a very positive response, especially since this program targets increasing teacher capacity in the IT field which is currently a primary need in education," he concluded.
He continued, explaining that the role of teachers is no less important than that of lecturers in developing the quality of human resources, as they are the primary foundation in shaping students' character and basic skills before they proceed to college.
"Teachers are the starting point for producing quality students; what they instill in school will greatly determine their readiness for college," he explained.
Meanwhile, Mammaqdudah, M.Pd., Head of the Services and Promotion Section of the BTIKP (Teaching and Training Center) of the Babel Education Office, explained why his office selected Polman Babel as a potential partner in the training program.
He explained that his office had conducted research through Polman Babel's official website and social media, which is considered active in organizing various technology- and skills-based training programs.
"Initially, this program didn't have a well-developed concept, but after reviewing Polman Babel's track record, we saw a significant opportunity to design relevant training, particularly in the IT field," he said.
"Furthermore, this training can serve as a reference for teachers in developing technology-based learning methods, including for teachers in Special Needs Schools (SLB) who require a special approach to their teaching," he added.

Beyond just discussions, the BTIKP group also directly inspected campus facilities, from the Joint Lecture Building to the computer labs, to map needs and determine the most relevant training programs, ensuring they are truly targeted to teachers," he hoped.
