Trakindo Visits Polman, Babel Regency, to Propose Greening Program
The Bangka Belitung branch of heavy equipment company PT Trakindo Utama visited the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic campus to discuss its upcoming greening program. The meeting took place in the director's meeting room on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).
During the meeting, the two parties discussed the planned tree planting program, scheduled for Saturday (April 25, 2026). They plan to plant approximately 20 trees on campus as a contribution to greening the environment.
The Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., stated that the campus welcomes PT Trakindo's initiative, as it aligns with the campus's efforts to create a green and sustainable environment.

I Made stated that the planting location requires a field survey to ensure it aligns with the campus' environmental conditions and supports optimal plant growth.
"Today, we are conducting a site survey to ensure the implementation is effective and has a long-term impact on the campus environment," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bangka Belitung Branch of PT Trakindo, Muhammad Faisal Muhdana, explained that this reforestation program was a direct instruction from the company's headquarters as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR)," he added.
He continued, explaining that the education sector is a priority in the program's implementation. Therefore, the Polman Babel campus was chosen as the location for the activity because it is considered to have great potential to impact students.
"By placing the education sector as the primary focus of this program, this is where major change can begin," he said.

In fact, in the past two years, Trakindo has implemented various social activities, including environmental cleanups, waste management, and even cleaning programs at places of worship, directly involving the community," he concluded.
Through this visit, it is hoped that the synergy between the heavy equipment industry company and the Polman Babel campus can continue to be forged, not only in academics but also in joint efforts to preserve the environment," he said.
