Want to study in America, Polman Negeri Babel with Education USA opens the way for students
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) received a visit from Lilis Su'adah, EducationUSA Adviser, in a session to share insights regarding study opportunities in the United States, Wednesday (26/02/2025). Lilis' presence was welcomed by students, lecturers, as well as Deputy Director I Polman Babel, Irwan, Ph.D.
Taking place in the presentation room, this event presents various in-depth discussion sessions regarding educational pathways in the US, available scholarships, and strategies for meeting academic requirements. Students who attended seemed active in asking questions about the opportunities and challenges of studying abroad.
"In her presentation, Lilis explained that the United States offers various funding schemes for international students, ranging from government scholarships, educational institutions, to assistance from the private sector," she said.
"This opportunity is wide open, the most important thing is academic readiness and the courage to try," he said.
Apart from that, he also shared tips regarding preparing application documents, such as recommendation letters, motivation letters, and English test scores such as TOEFL or IELTS. "Many students are hesitant to apply because they feel the competition is tight, even though with the right strategy, their chances of being accepted could be greater," he added.
This session was made even more interesting by the inspirational stories from alumni who had successfully studied at various well-known universities in the US. They shared experiences about cultural adaptation, the education system, and job opportunities after graduation.

As Deputy Director I, Irwan, Ph.D., explained the EducationUSA initiative in opening Polman Babel students' insight into international studies. "We hope that more and more students will dare to take the big step to study abroad and bring their knowledge and experience back to Indonesia," he added.
With this activity, it is hoped that Polman Babel students will be more motivated to explore opportunities to study abroad. "Don't hesitate to dream big, because the opportunity is there for anyone who is willing to try," concluded Irwan.

The discussion session closed with a group photo and the distribution of further information regarding studying in the United States. Interested students are also invited to consult further through Education USA services.
