The Bangka Regency Branch of HNSI Holds an Audience with the Bangka Belitung State Polytechnic (Polman Negeri Babel) to Discuss Technological Solutions for Green Mussel Farming and Sustainable Collaboration.
For the first time, a delegation from the Bangka Regency Branch of the All-Indonesia Fishermen Association (HNSI) visited the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) campus on Wednesday (September 16, 2026) to hold an audience and discuss potential collaboration on technology development in the fisheries sector.
The delegation was welcomed by Harwadi, M.Ed., Head of the Academic Support Unit for Career Development and Entrepreneurship; Dewi Tumatul Aini, M.Si., Head of the Applied Bachelor’s Study Program in Aquaculture Technology; and Somawardi, M.T., Head of the Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation Division.
Harwadi, M.Ed., noted that the visit by the Bangka Regency HNSI branch is closely linked to the development of the Applied Bachelor’s Study Program in Aquaculture Technology currently being advanced by Polman Babel.
He stated that the audience would be highly effective if followed by a formal cooperation agreement, as this would ensure continuity in addressing various issues faced by fishermen that require technological support and development expertise from the faculty.
Furthermore, HNSI is a strategic stakeholder in the development of aquaculture technology that benefits the community, particularly fishermen.
" This is achieved by developing aquaculture concepts that meet specific needs and are viable for the long term," he stated.

Meanwhile, Lukman, S.Pd., Chairman of the HNSI Bangka Regency Branch, explained that his organization has several programs that Polman Babel could help develop—specifically regarding green mussel farming, an area currently deemed to require further development as a definitive solution has yet to be found.
Frankly, a key challenge in green mussel farming is suboptimal growth; this affects the size of the harvest, preventing the selling price from reaching expected standards.
" Therefore, we need research from Polman Babel lecturers to find solutions that ensure green mussel farming can operate sustainably and achieve maximum productivity," he acknowledged.
He further expressed hope that Polman Babel would be willing to enter into cooperation agreements for various programs needed by HNSI Bangka Regency, enabling the fishing community to gain knowledge—both theoretical and practical—especially regarding the use of technology to support the development of fishery businesses.
