Enjoying the Learning Process: State Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung Students Explore Capital Market Practices at the IDX
To support practice-based learning, lecturers from the Applied Bachelor’s Program in Digital Banking and Finance at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) participated in a Capital Market School (SPM) program organized by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Bangka Belitung Representative Office in collaboration with Pentraco Sekuritas on Thursday (September 17, 2026).
The event was attended by 30 students and seven Polman Babel lecturers: Hendrik Ali, M.M., Redi Alamsyah, M.M., Harwadi, M.Ed., Ummu Artha Tsary Rumalessin, M.Sc., Endah Arum Wangi, M.Sc., and Lusi Olis Vera, M.M.
When contacted on Friday (September 18, 2026), Hendrik Ali, M.M., explained the importance of student participation in the Capital Market School, noting that it serves as a learning platform where students can gain a direct understanding of the capital market, investment instruments, and transaction mechanisms.

Furthermore, the program broadens students' horizons regarding the evolution of the digital finance industry—which is constantly changing alongside technological advancements—and moves beyond mere theory to introduce actual practices within the financial industry.
“The important thing is that students gain knowledge from this visit and are able to apply it in a sustainable manner,” he added.
Furthermore, students receive education regarding various capital market investment instruments, transaction characteristics and mechanisms, potential returns, and investment risks, while also gaining an understanding of analysis to make wise investment decisions,” he explained.
“On the other hand, through direct learning via the capital market school, students must grasp academic concepts and possess practical insights that support the competencies needed to meet the demands of the digital finance industry,” Hendrik emphasized.
