Across Four Categories, the TRPL Student Team from State Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung Secures 2nd and 3rd Place at KMIPN 2026
Students from the Software Engineering Technology (TRPL) program at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) achieved success at the 2026 National Polytechnic Informatics Student Competition (KMIPN), held from September 9–11, 2026.
Thorough preparation paid off for four Polman Babel TRPL student teams: Team "Masih Bingung" (E-Government category), Team "Calon CEO Muda" (ICT Business Planning category), Team "Linus" (Local Culture category), and Team "Beyond Other" (Internet of Things/IoT category).

Throughout the preparation process, the students received guidance and mentorship from Polman Babel lecturer Riki Afriansyah, M.T. He explained that the various categories entered aimed to develop the TRPL students' abilities to generate technology-based ideas and solutions—ranging from utilizing technology for government services and ICT business planning to game development and IoT applications.
Significantly, the mentorship provided did not focus solely on the competition's final outcome; it also helped students refine their concepts, develop their projects, and prepare each team to perform at their best.
"Whenever participating in a competition, one must approach it with sincere intent and prayer, while maintaining a strong mindset and self-confidence," he added.

She added that securing third place would not lead to complacency; instead, this achievement is expected to serve as a valuable experience for further honing skills, strengthening teamwork, and building the confidence needed for future competitions.
“Keep developing your skills and let this experience motivate you to achieve even greater success,” she stated.

From the students' perspective, Adinda Islamaya expressed her gratitude for the achievement, noting that the success felt particularly meaningful after competing three times—finally succeeding in bringing recognition to Polman Babel as one of the winners at KMIPN 2026.
“Alhamdulillah, after participating three times, I finally won and saw the Polman Babel logo displayed on the main winners' screen at this year's KMIPN. My deepest thanks go to the supervising lecturer and the entire team,” she said.

She hopes the knowledge and experience gained during the competition will prove beneficial to both herself and those around her, adding, “I also hope that next year, fellow students will participate and achieve a ranking higher than third place.”
