Chinese Vocational College Visits Polman Negeri Babel to Discuss Cooperation on Strengthening International Education and Technology
The Director of Polman Negeri Babel and their team held discussions with a delegation from Zunyi Vocational and Technical College, China, regarding a cooperation agreement and topics related to international vocational education and technology.
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) hosted a delegation from Zunyi Vocational and Technical College, China, on Tuesday (September 15, 2026). The visit aimed to strengthen international cooperation in vocational education and explore opportunities for collaboration in human resource and technology development.
The delegation, led by Mrs. Yang, was welcomed personally by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, Ph.D. The meeting included discussions on a cooperation agreement and an audience regarding potential collaborative efforts between the two vocational education institutions.
In his remarks, I Made Andik Setiawan, Ph.D., emphasized the importance of international cooperation for Polman Babel to broaden horizons and enhance the quality of vocational education. He noted that China is a superpower with rapid technological advancement, offering valuable lessons for Polman Babel across various areas—ranging from technology and governance to organizational management.
I Made expressed hope that the visit by the Zunyi Vocational and Technical College delegation would not mark the end of the partnership at this initial meeting, but rather lead to concrete programs that benefit both institutions.
"Thank you for visiting Polman Babel. Moving forward, this cooperation agreement must be sustained and realized to the fullest extent possible," he stated.
"Meanwhile, the representative from Zunyi Vocational and Technical College, Mrs. Yang, noted a high level of compatibility between the two institutions, establishing a strong foundation for building international vocational education cooperation," she explained.
"Furthermore, the proposed collaboration encompasses several strategic areas, including the development of an internationally oriented vocational curriculum, the enhancement of industry skills to international standards, and the development of teaching competencies and student management," she concluded.
Currently, Zunyi Vocational and Technical College hosts over 100 international students from approximately 20 countries, including nations in Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, and other regions.
"This is part of our effort to develop vocational education that aligns with industry needs and the international landscape," she added.
"Mrs. Yang further outlined the areas of expertise developed by the college—such as mechatronics, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, manufacturing machinery, and information technology—which support the implementation of high-standard manufacturing technologies, including the development of manufacturing technology for the satellite industry," she stated.
"Equally important, there are several priority programs aimed at fostering student exchanges, developing joint international study programs, and sharing learning resources and skills training, all of which will enhance the quality of vocational education shared by China and Polman Babel," he explained.
This process is expected to yield results that not only strengthen institutional ties but also provide broader opportunities for Polman Babel students and educators to gain experience and achieve international-standard competencies," he concluded.
