Agricultural Innovation at Polman Negeri Babel, First Generation Students Apply Precision Engineering Practices
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) recently held precision agriculture practices for its first generation of students, Monday (26/08/2024).
This activity is part of the campus's efforts to equip students with the skills to operate the latest technology in the world of agriculture.
In this exciting practice, students are invited to understand more deeply various agronomic concepts, including the flow of energy in the agricultural sector, how to use energy efficiently for cultivation, and contemporary planting techniques.

Laily Muharani, S.P., M.Sc., lecturer in the Precision Agriculture Study Program, explained the basics of agronomy, starting from the concept of energy flow, plant classification and morphology, to nursery techniques and seed technology.
"We want to provide complete knowledge to students, including how to manage the environment and use the right fertilizer so that plants grow optimally," he said.
In the field, students practice directly cultivating land for planting corn, including making beds and fertilizing planting holes. Layly added.
"This practice provides an opportunity for students to understand and use modern agricultural techniques that are more efficient and environmentally friendly." he said.
Laily also hopes that through this practice, students can be better prepared to face the world of work and take part in the development of the agricultural sector in Indonesia.
"With practices like this, we want students to be better prepared to enter the world of work and help advance agriculture in Indonesia," he concluded.
