Babel State Polman Service, Coconut Shells Processed into Charcoal Briquettes of Economic Value
Polman Babel - With the aim of empowering the community and utilizing the potential of abundant natural resources, lecturers from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic Campus (Polman Babel) held a community service program in the Rambak Environment, Jelitik Village, on Tuesday (13/08/2024).
This program is designed to convert coconut shells which have been underutilized into charcoal briquettes of high economic value.
Through intensive training on the use of briquette printing machines provided by the lecturer team, the community is expected to be able to produce environmentally friendly products which can become a new source of income.

In this activity, lecturers Pristiansyah, M.Eng., and Muhammad Haritsah Amrullah, M.Eng., together with Polman Babel Campus students such as Aldo Frinaldo, Edwin, and Bayu Anggara, played an active role in providing training and direct assistance to local residents.
Apart from providing practical knowledge, this activity is also an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge they have learned in class to the real world.

The team leader, Pristiansyah, M.Eng., expressed his hope that this program would be able to encourage community economic independence through optimal use of local resources.
"We hope that with this program, the community can be economically independent and can process local resources more effectively," he said.
"This program is also clear evidence of the contribution of lecturers and students in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in community service," he concluded.
