Research by a Lecturer at Polman Negeri Babel Produces an Educational Math Game to Support Inclusive Learning at SMPIT Yabunaya
Implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, lecturers at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic conducted a research program with direct impact through the development of learning media and educational math games at SMPIT Yabunaya on Wednesday (June 17, 2026).
The research program aims to provide learning innovations that are more engaging, interactive, and easy to understand for students, both regular and inclusive, as part of Polman Negeri Babel's contribution as the best vocational university in Bangka Belitung, supporting the improvement of education quality.
The research team, comprised of Polman Negeri Babel lecturers Yang Agita Rindri, M.Eng., Firdaus, M.Kom., and Dr. Parulian Silalahi, M.Pd., also involved students from the Software Engineering Technology (TRPL) Study Program, Arliandra and Giovani, in the development and demonstration of the software.

During the activity, the team introduced digital learning media and educational math games to 14 students and teachers at SMPIT Yabunaya. Each demonstration session showcased various interactive features to support the teaching and learning process.
When confirmed on Wednesday (June 24, 2026), Yang Agita Rindri, M.Eng., a lecturer at Polman Babel, explained that the innovation arose from the need for learning media that could address the diverse characteristics of students at the school. "This innovation can increase student interest in learning mathematics, especially for inclusive students, making it more interactive and enjoyable, enabling students to understand the material more easily," she said.
The research team is not only providing access to students, but also providing teachers with access to the learning media in their daily teaching and learning activities, as the school can experience the benefits of the research sustainably.
"Teachers play a crucial role in the sustainable use of learning media through access and mentoring so that the developed media can be used optimally," she concluded.

Meanwhile, Layli, a seventh-grade Mathematics teacher at SMPIT Yabunaya, welcomed the presence of learning media and educational games, adding that the innovations developed by Polman Babel lecturers have greatly assisted teachers in creating a more engaging and engaging learning environment for mathematics, thereby motivating students to learn more enthusiastically," she concluded.
"With the presence of this research, conducted by Polman Babel lecturers, it has produced technology-based innovations to support a more inclusive and modern learning ecosystem, in order to improve the quality of education in Bangka Belitung," he concluded.
