D-III Electronic Engineering Polman Negeri Babel, Graduate with Skills Not Just a Degree
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) Podcast Team is back with an interesting discussion, this time discussing the Diploma III Electronic Engineering Study Program. In this episode, the Head of the D-III Electronic Engineering Study Program, Novitasari, M.Pd., is the main resource person, hosted by Lamia Eva Rini, MBA., Tuesday (03/25/2025).
In the discussion, Novitasari revealed that the D-III Electronic Engineering Study Program is designed to equip students with skills that are ready to enter the industrial world. The curriculum applied is adjusted to current industrial needs, especially with the implementation of the 2021 Curriculum which is increasingly relevant.
"Students in the D-III Electronic Engineering Study Program practice more in practice than theory, with a composition of 70% practice and 30% theory. This is done so that they have skills that can be directly applied in the world of work," he explained.
He also added that for D-III graduates who want to continue their education to a higher level, there are advanced programs to Diploma IV or Bachelor. That way, alumni have a greater opportunity to develop their careers.
In addition to hard skills in the field of industrial instrumentation and control, students are also equipped with soft skills that are developed throughout the courses. We emphasize critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and managerial leadership skills so that our graduates are not only technically competent, but also able to compete in the professional world," he added.
To support the improvement of student skills, the D-III Electronic Engineering Study Program has collaborated with various companies in internship programs. Students will undergo an internship for 20 weeks in the fifth semester and around six months in the sixth semester.
"This internship experience is very important because students will get used to the rhythm of industrial work. Not a few of them after the internship are immediately recruited by the company where they trained," he said.
He emphasized that internships are not just work experience, but also an opportunity for students to hone critical thinking and problem solving in a real industrial environment.
With an educational approach that is oriented towards skills and industry needs, the D-III Electronic Engineering Study Program Polman Babel continues to strive to produce competent graduates who are ready to compete in the world of work," he concluded.
