Winning Gold Medals, Polman Students from Babel State University Will Compete in the 2025 National Sports Week (NSMO).
The beginning of the third semester was a special moment for the Applied Software Engineering Undergraduate Program at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel). Two students brought honor to the university by achieving outstanding results at the prestigious 2025 National Science and Mathematics Olympiad (NSMO).
Nella Aprilia and Muthiiah Rahmah achieved this honor, taking home gold medals. The competition, held online, was attended by hundreds of participants from various universities across Indonesia.
Regarding this success, on Monday (August 19, 2025), their supervisor, Riki Afriansyah, M.T., expressed his pride in the achievements of the two students. Their hard work had finally paid off. "This is proof that hard work never betrays results," he said.
Riki explained that the training has been carried out for a long time through intensive training, disciplined time management, and continuous motivation.
"Consistency is key in developing students' mentality and abilities to prepare them for national competitions," he added.
Meanwhile, Nella Aprilia explained her reasons for participating in the NSMO event. "For her, this competition is not just a competition, but also a platform to test her abilities and gain new experiences," she concluded.
"Even so, Nella acknowledged the many challenges she had to overcome, both during preparation and during the competition. The questions required quick thinking and precise strategies. But thanks to teamwork and the guidance of her supervisor, she overcame everything," she said.
Furthermore, Nella expressed her gratitude for the support of her campus and family, who continued to encourage her. "She believes moral support was a major source of motivation for her to remain confident even when competing with students from renowned universities," she added.
Muthiiah Rahmah echoed this sentiment. She believes this success is proof that Polman Babel students are capable of competing at the national level.
"Hopefully, this achievement can spark a competitive spirit in other students," she said.
Concluding her story, Muthiiah offered a motivational message to her fellow students. "Don't be afraid to try and compete. Competitions teach us many things, not just about winning or losing, but also valuable experiences that shape us for the better," she explained.
