Sharpen Creative Ideas, Polman Negeri Babel Encourages Students to be Active in PKM
The State Manufacturing Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) once again held an inspiring activity through the Student Creativity Program (PKM) which lasted for two days, on Wednesday and Thursday (21-22 May 2025) at the Main Campus Hall Building.
This activity is an important event in encouraging innovation and self-development of students across generations, from grades 1 to 3. The participants seemed enthusiastic about participating in a series of events that were packaged interactively and applicatively.
PKM is a strategic forum to explore students' potential in the fields of research, entrepreneurship, community service, appropriate technology, and creative works. This activity is expected to generate creative ideas that can be developed into superior projects.
Deputy Director III for Student Affairs, Eko Sulistyo, M.T., was present directly as the main speaker. He gave an in-depth explanation regarding the active role of students in compiling quality PKM proposals and strategies from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktsaintek)
"Polman Babel students must dare to try and not be afraid to fail. PKM is not only about winning, but about the learning process and courage in expressing ideas," he said.
Eko also shared various technical tips on writing a good proposal, as well as how to convey ideas convincingly in front of reviewers. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the supervisor and students.
In addition to the presentation of the material, the question and answer session and open discussion were also interesting parts of this activity. Students were given the opportunity to review their own ideas and get direct input from the speakers.
"My hope is that through this PKM, strong students will be born who are ready to compete at the national and even international levels," he added.
This activity is an important initial step in fostering a culture of research and innovation among Polman Babel students. PKM is not only an annual program, but is a sustainable movement in producing a creative and solution-oriented generation.
