Polmanbabel Service Team Held Moodle-Based Learning Development Workshop for Pemali Elementary School Teachers
SUNGAILIAT-POLMANBABEL. The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic Service Team carried out training activities for MOODLE-Based Blended Learning Development for Pemali Elementary School teachers from 20 to 23 June 2022.
This training was attended by 34 elementary school teachers from several elementary schools around Pemali. As a resource person for this training, Dr. Parulian Silalahi, M.Pd, and Yang Agita Rindri, S.Kom, M.Eng.
"Through this training, teachers should be able to prepare for online learning, so that when the Covid-19 outbreak rises again and learning is required online, the teacher is ready for it," he said.
Meanwhile, Parulian Silalahi who is the Head of the Center for Research and Community Service (P3KM) Polman Negeri Babel as well as the resource person for this workshop, said that designing and preparing lessons for students is a teacher's routine task. The teacher plays a role in deciding what material will be given, how the lesson will be delivered, what media is used and how the evaluation is used to measure student success.
"That the success of students certainly cannot be separated from the role of a teacher. Teachers who inspire and are knowledgeable are the most important factors in schools that affect student achievement " he added.
In fact, "in practice in the classroom there are still many teachers who do not meet the quality as expected," said Parulian.
"Therefore, it is very important to pay attention to how teachers can move forward and be able to keep up with the times," he added.
Parulian also hopes that through the training provided, teachers can use e-learning applications and implement them in the classroom. The MOODLE LMS training provided is certainly very supportive and helps teachers in administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation, and the delivery of subject matter is much smarter and faster.
"To realize this, there needs to be a program to improve the professional ability of teachers on an ongoing basis. Unfortunately, the activities of teacher quality improvement programs are very rare and limited. Therefore, the participation of universities to overcome these problems is very necessary," he continued.
