The dedication of lecturers from Polman Negeri Babel brings a breath of fresh air to MSMEs Berkah Utama Snack.
A group of lecturers from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) conducted a community service program through the Community-Based Empowerment Scheme within the 2025 Community Partnership Empowerment Program, partnering with the Berkah Utama Snack MSME, located on Jalan Raya Belinyu, Sungailiat, Bangka, on Saturday (September 13, 2025).
The community service team consisted of Polman Babel lecturers Yudi Oktriadi, M.Eng., Ahmad Josi, M.Kom., and Yuliyanto, M.T., accompanied by PLP Achmad Afriadi, S.S.T., and two students, Nastiar Dafri and Ahmad Gunadi, as part of a synergy between the university and the community to increase the productivity of the MSME sector.
As the head of the community service program, Yudi Oktriadi, M.Eng., explained on Wednesday (September 17, 2025) that the team provided assistance in the form of a fish grinder, a dough mixer, and a packaging machine. "According to him, the presence of this machine can increase the efficiency of seafood production by up to 53 percent compared to before," he said.
"Furthermore, with this machine, the production process can run faster and more efficiently, thereby increasing production output and partner income. This is not just a matter of technology, but also a boost for MSMEs to grow further," he added.

Furthermore, Yudi explained that this community service program is funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology through the Directorate of Research and Community Service and the Directorate General of Research and Development in 2025.
"Supporting government programs to strengthen the small and medium enterprise sector, this kind of assistance can inspire MSMEs to continue growing their businesses while improving the quality of life for the community," he said.
Meanwhile, the owner of Berkah Utama Snack, Rika Trisdasawati, expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided by the Polman Babel campus. "This machine has truly brought about significant changes in the business she started," she said.
Rika stated that community service programs like this can continue, not only in the form of equipment assistance, but also training and mentoring. "This way, MSMEs in Bangka-Belitung can move up a level and contribute more to the regional economy.
While the production process used to take a long time, now we can produce more products in a shorter time. Furthermore, the quality of our products has also improved, making them more competitive in the market," explained Rika.
