Faster and Hygienic, Packaging Machines from Polman Negeri Babel Help UKM Bakso Air Ruay Increase Production
To increase production and competitiveness, the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) carries out community service activities by presenting sealer or packaging machines to UKM partners making meatball pentol on Jl. Enggano I, Air Ruay, Pemali District, Thursday (14/11/2024).
The presence of this machine is expected to increase the productivity of SMEs and provide added value to their products.
The service team from Polman Babel consisting of Lecturers Ariyanto, S.S.T., M.T., Husman, S.S.T., M.T., and Eko Yudo, M.T., along with two students participated in this activity.
They work together to provide assistance to SMEs in using this appropriate technology machine.
Ariyanto, S.S.T., M.T., who also acts as head of service, explained that the use of this sealer machine is very important for packaging meatball pentol products produced by UKM.
"With this machine, the packaging process can be faster, neater, and the product will last longer," said Ariyanto.
Apart from that, Ariyanto said that this machine is easy to operate and is specifically designed for SMEs with medium to low production scales.
According to him, the presence of a sealer machine can reduce the risk of contamination and maintain product cleanliness, thereby increasing sales power in local and foreign markets.
He also hopes that with the help of this machine, the UKM making meatball pentol in Air Ruay can further develop. "We want to see SMEs in this area progress, and of course be able to produce high quality products," he added.
Ariyanto also plans to involve further students to help with supervision and regular training.
On the other hand, Renny, Head of the UKM for making meatball pentol, feels grateful for the help of this machine. He stated that with the sealer machine, packaging work which usually takes a long time can now be done more quickly and the results are neater.
"In the past, we packed it manually, it took a long time. Now, one press is neat and safe," said Renny enthusiastically.
Renny also believes that their products will now be easier to market because the packaging is attractive and more hygienic. “We can compete with foreign products. "Thank you to Polman Babel for helping," he said enthusiastically.
Not to forget, he also advised other SMEs not to hesitate to use technology to help their businesses. “For friends who are still manual, try switching to technology. "Apart from saving energy, the results are much better," said Renny.
This community service activity shows Polman Babel's concern in supporting local economic growth through the application of appropriate technology. It is hoped that this collaboration can be an example for other agencies in advancing SMEs in the regions.
