DPD RI Meets Polman Civitas Negeri Babel, Discusses Economy and Self-Sufficiency
The State Manufacturing Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) received a special visit from a member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) from Bangka Belitung, Ust. H. Zuhri M. Syazali, Lc., MA., on Tuesday (03/06/2025). This visit was a means of friendship as well as a network of aspirations between people's representatives and academics.
The event which took place warmly was attended by lecturers, education staff, and Polman Babel students from various departments. The discussion took place openly in the Presentation room, with high enthusiasm from the participants who wanted to convey various views and hopes.

Deputy Director III of Polman Babel, Eko Sulistyo, M.T., in his remarks expressed his deep appreciation for the presence of Ust. Zuhri. According to him, this visit provides added value in strengthening relations between the world of vocational education and the direction of regional development policies.
"His presence is not only symbolic, but also an opportunity for students to convey their aspirations directly to regional representatives in Senayan," he said.
Eko continued, the involvement of the DPD RI in the world of education is important as a bridge to synergize the needs of the community with the policies of the central and regional governments," he said.

In his presentation, Ust. Zuhri discussed the economic conditions of Bangka Belitung, especially strategic sectors such as mining, agriculture, and fisheries which always synergize between the world of education and the real sector in order to encourage regional progress.
"Students must understand their role in development. The regional economy cannot be separated from the contribution of the younger generation, especially those with a background in technology and engineering like in Polman Babel," he added.
This, touched on the importance of national independence through self-sufficiency in food, energy, and downstreaming of regional products, if managed seriously Bangka Belitung has great potential to become a pioneer in these sectors.
At the end of the session, Ust. Zuhri opened a discussion room with students, discussing various issues ranging from job opportunities, local technological innovations, to the challenges of sustainable development," he concluded.
