Cooperation Inaugurated, Polman Negeri Babel and SMA Negeri 1 Merawang Sign MoU
State Senior High School (SMA) 1 Merawang visited the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) in order to establish cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday (03/13/2025). This visit aims to strengthen the synergy between the world of secondary education and vocational education in order to improve the quality of human resources who are better prepared to face the industrial world.
The visit was led directly by the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Merawang, Sunandar, M.M., and his staff. The group was warmly welcomed by Deputy Director II of Polman Babel, Muhammad Subhan, M.T., in the campus library. On this occasion, both parties discussed various forms of collaboration that can be established to support the development of student education and skills.
In his speech, Muhammad Subhan emphasized the importance of this collaboration as a strategic step in preparing high school graduates who have competencies according to industry needs. This MoU is the beginning of a broader collaboration, especially in supporting the industrial world introduction program for students of SMA Negeri 1 Merawang," he said.
He also added that this collaboration can open up various opportunities for high school students to get to know the vocational campus environment better and gain insight into rapidly developing manufacturing technology.
"We hope this collaboration can provide real benefits for students who want to continue their education in engineering and manufacturing," he added.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Merawang, Sunandar, M.M., welcomed this initiative and expressed that his party strongly supports strengthening synergy with vocational education institutions.
"We want to provide students with broader insight into career choices after graduating from high school. Polman Babel is a strategic partner in providing learning that is more applicable and relevant to industry needs," he said.
Sunandar also hopes that this collaboration will not only be limited to an MoU, but can be realized in various concrete programs such as industrial visits, technology workshops, and project-based skills training.
"We want our students to not only get theory in class, but also direct experience in understanding industrial technology," he added.
In addition to the signing of the MoU, the visit was also filled with discussion sessions between representatives of the school and the campus. Several topics discussed included the potential for internship programs for students, joint training, and opportunities for graduates of SMA Negeri 1 Merawang to continue their studies at Polman Babel.
This activity ended with a group photo session as a symbol of the cooperation between SMA Negeri 1 Merawang and Polman Babel. With this MoU, it is hoped that both parties can continue to establish close synergy in order to produce a superior generation that is ready to face the challenges of the future industry.
