Polman Negeri Babel and UT Pangkalpinang Officially Establish Educational Cooperation
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) has officially established a partnership with the Open University (UT) Pangkalpinang to utilize computer laboratory facilities for online exams. The signing ceremony took place in the Polman Babel Director's meeting room on Tuesday (August 12, 2025).
Present at the event were the Director of UT Pangkalpinang, Dr. Ida Zubaidah, M.A., and the Head of the Administration Subdivision, Agus Setiawan, S.T. The UT delegation was welcomed by the Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, Ph.D., accompanied by Deputy Director I Irwan, Ph.D., Deputy Director II Muhammad Subhan, M.T., and other leadership.
The Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, Ph.D., stated that this collaboration represents a positive synergy between state educational institutions. According to him, this collaboration not only helps ensure the smooth running of UT's academic activities, but also demonstrates the tangible use of shared facilities for educational purposes.
I Made emphasized that Polman Babel is always open to collaborating with various parties who share a shared vision for educational development. "We can utilize our facilities optimally to have a broad impact on the community and the world of education."
"The beginning of this collaboration is not just the use of laboratories, but also knowledge exchange, training, and joint research," he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Administrative Subdivision of UT Pangkalpinang, Agus Setiawan, S.T., explained that the signing of this memorandum of understanding (MoU) is a strategic step to meet the need for online examination facilities. "With the increasing number of courses being tested online and the increasing number of participants, we need a computer laboratory that meets the specifications for online exam implementation," he said.
Agus stated that Polman Babel's computer laboratory facilities are considered very adequate, both in terms of the number of labs, the number of computers, the quality of the equipment, the internet connection, and the technical staff supporting the exams.
"As fellow government institutions, the shared use of these facilities has gone very well," he explained.
He also appreciated the warm welcome from Polman Babel's leadership and all its staff. He stated that this demonstrates a strong spirit of cooperation for the smooth running of academic activities at UT Pangkalpinang.
"Therefore, we express our sincere gratitude to the Director of Polman Babel and all his staff. We hope that this collaboration can continue and expand into other relevant areas in the future," Agus concluded.
