Two Deputy Directors of Polman Negeri Babel Reveal the Secrets of College Success on the Third Day of PKKMB
The series of activities for the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) continued with great enthusiasm. Entering the third day, Wednesday (August 6, 2025), new students received important presentations regarding campus regulations, ethics, academic systems, and organizational life.
The event featured two key speakers: Deputy Director I, Irwan, Ph.D., and Deputy Director III, Eko Sulistyo, M.T. Both presented strategic material to equip new students for their initial study at Polman Babel.

In his presentation, Irwan, Ph.D., emphasized the importance of student preparedness for the changing world of work through a topic titled "The Evolution of the Employee." He explained how the character and competencies of the workforce continue to evolve over time.
"Students must master three key skills: social, systems, and cognitive skills. All of these are interconnected and must be developed early," he said.
He also added that the future industry demands not only intellectual intelligence, but also the ability to adapt, collaborate, and think systematically. Therefore, students are expected to actively develop critical and reflective thinking patterns from the beginning of their studies," he added.

Meanwhile, Eko Sulistyo, M.T., provided an overview of the education system at Polman Babel. He linked the learning pattern to the principles of the Tridharma of Higher Education: education, research, and community service.
Eko emphasized the importance of maintaining occupational safety and health, especially in a vocational and technology-based campus environment. "Safety is part of the work culture. Students must familiarize themselves with existing standards," he said.
Furthermore, he encouraged students to become active in student organizations as a means of developing soft skills and developing leadership skills. He believes that experiences outside the classroom can be key to success in the workplace.
"The material presented on the third day of PKKMB is part of the campus's efforts to instill the values of discipline, ethics, and readiness to face the professional world in new students," he concluded.
"With the knowledge gained during this activity, students are expected to not only become technically competent graduates, but also possess strong character and be able to contribute to society," Eko emphasized.
