He also recounted the history of Polman Babel from its inception, developing into a state university until it became the current Polman Babel which has seven study programs concentrating on mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology.
"In the future we will develop new study programs in the field of digital business, management, including fisheries, agriculture and will also develop regional potential, but all of that needs a process," he said.
Made also explained the potential for human resources in lecture conditions, a potential that could be developed at Polman Babel to answer industry needs for manpower.
In addition to the director's remarks, the welcoming agenda was filled with presentations by the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Head of the Electronics and Informatics Engineering Department who provided an overview of the conditions, facilities, needs and plans for developing education in Polman Babel.
"We hope that Polman Babel students can be absorbed by the industry because that is also an indicator of accreditation, the biggest point is that students can continue their studies after graduation," said Pristiansyah as the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
"If there is an opportunity for lecturers to improve their education in Germany it is very good, it will add a plus for Polman Babel," he said.
Likewise, the Head of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering said that in the future Polman Babel students who have potential and have graduated will be able to continue their education abroad, then after completing their education they can serve at Polman Babel.
"The potential to serve in Polman Babel is very large, including graduates of Polman Babel are expected to be able to work immediately after graduation without waiting for a long waiting period," said Zanu Saputra as Head of Mechanical Engineering and Informatics.
The purpose of the global catalyst's visit to Polman Babel was to see the conditions and needs of vocational education so that they could establish cooperation regarding studying and working in Germany.
Global Katalyst itself is a non-profit association founded in Stuttgart, Germany, with members from various countries and professional backgrounds voluntarily cooperating with programs in various countries.
The association, which was established in 2020, aims to build communication, explore future collaborations, and bridge cooperation between nations in the fields of education, socio-culture and tourism.
Doddy Primanda as the coordinator of the Global Katalyst cooperation section provided several solutions to the conditions in Polman Babel for further development.
"We are ready to guide and assist if Polman Babel needs to produce quality products," said Doddy.
According to Doddy, Polman Babel needs its graduates to be ready to be accepted into the world of work, so Global Katalyst is ready to accommodate Polman Babel graduates every year in Germany, but the method must be well prepared.
"Distributing manpower to Germany is like salting the ocean, there is a professional workforce crisis, so we are ready to help and bridge the problem of graduates in Polman Babel," he said.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion Erzaldi Rosman Djohan the Governor of Babel for the 2017-2022 period also gave his views on Polman Babel that not only educating students but once students graduate they can accommodate jobs.
He hopes that Global Katalyst can provide information and assistance on collaboration with industry or universities in Germany.
"Hopefully our graduates can work in Germany, and lecturers can also continue their education there," said Erzaldi.
"With reliable, strong, ready and moral human resources, then our country can be strong and big, if our human resources are weak then we can't do anything, we will always be colonized," he continued. (hms.oln)
