Polman Babel TOEIC-Like Test Training, Improve Vocational School Students' English
Sungailiat - Polman Babel. Lecturers at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) carry out community service for Vocational High School (SMK) students as an effort to improve the abilities of vocational students.
In the form of innovative English language training, it was introduced by the Polmanbabel service team led by Mrs. Sari Mubaroh, M.Pd and her colleague Mr. Sidhiq Andriyanto, M.Kom for students of SMK Negeri 2 Sungailiat last September.
This program is designed to provide comprehensive material provision and administer tests similar to TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) or Toeic-like tests to measure participants' English language skills.
This training aims to help participants improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English, with a focus on the field of communication.
According to the team leader, Sari Mubaroh, said that this program is an embodiment of the Campus Tri Dharma of Community Service from the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic which wants to support improving the qualifications of Indonesian vocational graduates in terms of English language skills.
"As part of this program, participants take an English test similar to the TOEIC format. This test will measure the participant's ability to listen and read texts. Furthermore, the results of this test will provide a clear understanding of the participant's English language skills and help them identify areas of concern. needs to be improved." said Sari Mubaroh when confirmed (04/10).
Sari also added that this program will provide certificates to participants who successfully complete the training and achieve appropriate scores in the TOEIC-Like test.
This certificate will be proof of English language competency that can be used in seeking employment, promotions, or business opportunities.
The Principal of SMK Negeri 2 Sungailiat, Tego, S.Ag, welcomed this initiative, stating that improving English language skills would open the door to more educational and employment opportunities for the Indonesian people, especially the children of SMK Negeri 2 Sungailiat.
He also emphasized the importance of cooperation between campuses and schools in supporting the development of English in Indonesia.
One of the training participants, Zelina, was very enthusiastic about taking part in the training and according to her, the activity showed her English language skills.
"This training program is an important step in improving my English skills," said Zelina.
"I am very excited to take the TOEIC-like test and see how far my English skills have improved," he continued.
The team leader hopes that this training can have a positive impact on Indonesia's economic growth and competitiveness in the global context.
The more individuals who have good English skills, the greater the opportunity for Indonesia to engage in international business and participate in the global community.
