SALTATOR S-229 Polman Negeri Babel Team Wins Fun Race at PESIAR 2024, Stunning Fast Boat
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) has once again resonated at the national level, the SALTATOR S-229 Team succeeded in winning the Fun Race category in the Fast Ship Prototype and Innovation Competition (LOPI) at the PESIAR 2024 event which was held at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), Makassar , November 7-10, 2024.
With the big theme Sea Transportation Innovation for the Safety of National Maritime, this competition challenges participants' creativity to create fast ship innovations.
The SALTATOR S-229 team performed confidently, impressing the judges with a prototype that excelled in aerodynamic design and efficiency.
Formed by the combined strength of three talented students, Ramanda Aditya, Rian Ardiansyah, and Anugrah Al Hafidz, this team is a collaboration across study programs, namely DIII Machine Maintenance and Repair and DIV Electronics Engineering.
With intensive guidance from two reliable lecturers, Ocsirendi, M.T. and Catur Pebriandani, S.Tr.T., they succeeded in making Polman Babel proud.
"We are proud of this achievement, Ocsirendi, M.T., the team's supervisor, when interviewed Friday (22/11/2024). "This event is not just about winning or losing, but how students are able to combine theory and practice and present real innovations for maritime transportation solutions," he added.
He also appreciated the hard work of the team who tirelessly prepared themselves. "They showed extraordinary enthusiasm, and this is proof that our students are able to compete on the national stage," continued Ocsirendi.
The innovation displayed by the SALTATOR S-229 Team not only received praise, but also became an inspiration for other participants. "Their fast ships, which are designed with careful detail, are proof that technology made by the nation's children is able to provide solutions for the future of Indonesia's maritime transportation," he said.
This achievement is clear proof that Polman Babel students not only compete, but also bring innovations that are relevant to the nation's needs. In the future, the team hopes to be able to go further in the international arena, bringing the name Polman Babel to the world stage.
“This is just the beginning. "With the support of the campus and the spirit of never giving up, we are sure that Polman Babel will continue to make extraordinary achievements," he added.
Meanwhile, one of the team members, Rian Ardiansyah, shared the behind-the-scenes story of their struggle. "We faced various challenges, from technical to time management, but team unity and the support of our supervisors made us able to overcome them all," he said enthusiastically.
Rian also expressed his gratitude to the supervisor and the entire team. "Without the guidance of Mr. Ocsi and Mr. Catur, as well as solid teamwork, this achievement would not have been possible. "This is a joint victory," said Rian.
