Babel State Polman Lecturers Improve Competency Through RCC Assessors at LSP P-1
A total of 17 lecturers from various departments at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) took part in the Recognition Current Competency (RCC) Competency Assessor activity organized by the P-1 Professional Certification Institute (LSP). The event will take place on 2-4 December 2024 at the Joint Lecture Building, Polman Babel.
This activity presented two Master Assessors from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP), namely Rachmad Sugiayanto and Osvian Putra, who were tasked with testing the participants' abilities. Lecturers who take part in this activity are expected to meet assessor competency standards in accordance with BNSP qualifications.

Deputy Director 1 of Polman Babel, Irwan, Ph.D., gave an opening speech on the first day of activities. In his speech, Irwan expressed his appreciation for the lecturers' willingness to take part in this activity. "This RCC process is an important step in ensuring that the quality of certification provided by LSP P-1 Polman Babel is maintained and recognized nationally," he said.
He also hopes that, with the involvement of lecturers in this RCC, the Polman Babel campus can produce more quality assessors.
"Hopefully the results of this activity will not only increase the competency of assessors, but also expand the scope of certification services at Polman Babel," he added.
One of the RCC participants, Indra Dwisaputra, M.T., expressed his experiences and challenges while participating in this activity. "This activity is really challenging, especially in understanding more deeply the certification schemes that suit industry needs," he said.
Indra also highlighted the importance of the role of lecturers as competency assessors. "As assessors, we must truly understand the needs of the industry and ensure that the graduates we certify have competencies that are recognized and relevant to the world of work," he explained.
He hopes that, after going through this RCC process, Polman Babel lecturers can become more professional assessors. "By increasing the number of competent assessors, Polman Babel can become a leading certification center in Bangka Belitung," he said.

Meanwhile, BNSP Master Assessor Coordinator, Rachmad Sugiayanto, emphasized the important role of lecturers in maintaining the quality of certification. Polman Babel lecturers have great potential to become reliable assessors. "This RCC process is an important step to ensure better testing standards," he said.
Rachmad also provided encouragement to the participants during the testing session. "We are not only here to test, but also to provide guidance and motivation to lecturers so they are ready to face challenges as assessors," he added.
He expressed his belief that Polman Babel was able to become a role model in developing LSP in the tertiary environment.
"With the support of the institution and the enthusiasm of the lecturers, I am sure that Polman Babel can produce competency assessors that are recognized nationally," stressed Rachmad.
This RCC activity is not only a competency test venue, but also a forum for sharing experiences and knowledge between lecturers and master assessors. The participants admitted that they had gained many new insights, especially in the application of competency standards in the field.
With the end of the activity on December 4, Polman Babel lecturers are increasingly optimistic about being able to expand their role in the world of vocational education and professional certification in Indonesia.
"We hope that Polman Babel lecturers can make the best contribution to producing a workforce that is competent and globally competitive," he concluded.
