Babel State Polman Lecturer shares session with Telkomsel Ventures, thoroughly examines the challenges of digital business in the 5.0 era
A total of 19 lecturers from the Digital Business Study Program, Informatics and Business Department, Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel), took part in the activity entitled Competency Integration in Facing Digital Business Opportunities and Challenges in the Industrial Era 5.0. This event took place at the Joint Lecture Building on Tuesday (31/12/2024).
Present as the main resource person, Vice President of Operations and Governance from Telkomsel Ventures governance, Kahfiya Hasbi, S.H., L.L.M., who provided in-depth insight into various aspects of the digital business ecosystem. "In this era, it is important for us to understand the venture capital investment process and the startup journey in order to be able to compete," said Kahfiya.

In her presentation, Kahfiya explained several main materials, such as Venture Capital Fund, Typical Startup Journey, VC Investment Stages, Venture Capital Dealflow Funnel, and VC Due Diligence.
"The hope is that these lecturers can become agents of change in their institutions, as well as encourage students to innovate in the world of digital business," he added.
An interesting moment from this event was the interactive question and answer session between the speakers and participants. The lecturers seemed enthusiastic about asking questions about technology-based startup development and digital investment strategies. This discussion is a means of sharing experiences between academics and practitioners.

Chair of the Digital Business Study Program, Indah Riezky Pratiwi, M.Pd., expressed her high appreciation to the resource persons who had taken the time to share their knowledge. "This is an extraordinary opportunity for our lecturers to gain knowledge directly from experienced practitioners," he said.
He also said that this activity was the first step in strengthening the Digital Business Study Program curriculum to make it more relevant to industry needs.
"We want to produce graduates who not only understand theory, but are also able to innovate amidst the dynamics of the current world of work," added Indah.
According to him, synergy between academics and practitioners is very important to build an adaptive learning ecosystem. "We also hope to establish further collaboration with Telkomsel Ventures to develop the competencies of lecturers and students," he continued.
One of the participants, Digital Business Lecturer Lusi Olis Vera, S.E., M.M, admitted that he was very inspired by the material presented. "I understand more about the journey of a startup from the beginning to the investment stage. This material is very relevant to the field I teach," he said.

This activity closed with a small group discussion session, where the lecturers collaborated to design a learning program based on case studies from successful startups. The hope is that the output from this activity can be applied directly in the classroom to increase the competitiveness of Polman Babel students.
