The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Polman Negeri Babel held a blood drive, demonstrating the academic community's social concern.
The blood drive, organized by the Indonesian Red Cross Volunteer Corps (KSR PMI) of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel), in collaboration with the Bangka Regency Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), was a success and filled with a sense of humanity. The event took place at the ITS building on the Polman Babel campus on Friday (October 17, 2025).
Since morning, more than 50 people had registered to donate, despite the limited capacity of approximately 30 participants. Prior to donating, all applicants were required to undergo a medical examination to ensure they met the requirements for donating blood.
For participants who did not meet the health standards, medical personnel provided education on maintaining their health and participating in the blood drive, demonstrating the committee's and PMI's commitment to ensuring the safety and quality of the blood distributed to the community.

When confirmed on Saturday (18/10/2025), Evvin Faristasari, M.Sc., the Supervisor of the KSR PMI Polman Babel, stated that this blood donation activity was a manifestation of social concern and humanitarian solidarity within the campus environment. "Through this collaboration, the collected blood will be distributed directly to the Bangka Regency PMI to support the availability of much-needed blood stocks in hospitals," she explained.
Evvin added that the activity also served as a learning and social reflection tool for students.
"The active participation of the academic community reflects the spirit of humanity and strengthens the campus's social bonds," he said.
Furthermore, Evvin hopes that activities like this can continue regularly as a form of Polman Babel's real contribution to the community and a shared awareness of being a sustainable blood donor.
"Hopefully, this meaningful contribution will continue to grow and be beneficial in supporting the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in maintaining blood availability, while expanding its positive impact on communities in need of emergency health services," he added.

Meanwhile, Erwanto, M.T., a Polman Babel lecturer and regular donor, admitted that donating blood has become a routine for him. "For me, donating blood is an opportunity to share blessings and maintain good health. The more regularly we donate, the fresher our bodies feel," said Erwanto.
