Student-E Polman Negeri Babel Presents English Creativity Through E-Motion 2025
The State Manufacturing Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) once again brought a lively atmosphere to the 4th floor of the Joint Lecture Building on Tuesday (10/14/2025). Through the UKBI English Student Activity Unit (UKM), the campus held a competition titled E-Motion (English Through Music and Expression), which combined art, expression, and English language skills in one creative stage.
This activity provided a platform for students to express their talents and improve their English language skills in a fun way. There were two competition categories: the Solo Singing Competition and the Storytelling Competition, with a total of 35 participants from various departments at Polman Babel.

In the Solo Singing Competition, 24 participants captivated the judges, Charlotha, M.Tr.T., and Robert Napitupulu, M.T. They were judged based on their pronunciation, song appreciation, and stage confidence. The atmosphere became even more lively as the participants performed English songs with enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, the Storytelling Competition category saw 11 participants present inspirational stories in English. The competition was judged by two experienced judges: Veniati, M.Pd., and Titin Indriati, M.Pd. Participants were not only required to speak fluently, but also to display expressiveness and mastery of storytelling.

The results were announced at the end of the event with great enthusiasm. For the Solo Singing Competition, first place went to Djuniarkasih Fahzanisubhi, followed by Rezquila Fayyaza in second place, and M. Affan Faiz Raihandy in third place.
Meanwhile, in the Storytelling Competition, first place went to Agung Sopian, second place to Nabila Putri Lisiana, and third place to Sheiren. The winners received certificates and awards directly from the committee and UKM mentors.

As the Advisor of the UKBI English Student Activity Unit (UKBI English), Shanty Dwi Krishnaningsih, M.Hum., expressed her gratitude for the successful implementation of the E-motion activity, which received enthusiasm beyond expectations. "The interest was truly beyond expectations, even exceeding the budget allocated by UKBI. However, I truly appreciate the creativity and positive spirit of the students who participated," she said.
She added that this activity demonstrated an inspiring spirit that motivated other students to participate, both as committee members and participants.
"I thank the UKBI committee and management for their smart work and dedication, as well as the judges who took the time to evaluate the participants," he said.
Furthermore, in the future, I hope this competition can be expanded to include high school students or equivalent from various schools in Bangka Belitung to create a more diverse and inclusive competition atmosphere. I also hope to add competition categories such as drama or essay writing in English, to further enrich the participants' forms of expression," he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Head of the UKBI English Student Activity Unit, Riski, stated that this activity is not just entertainment, but also a means for student self-development. Through this storytelling and singing competition, Polman Babel students can hone their English skills. "As we know, English is highly needed in the technology industry," he said.
