Retro Artistry Becomes a Creative Event for Polman Negeri Babel Student Arts UKM
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) Arts Student Activity Unit (UKM) successfully held a Retro Artistry event in the courtyard of the Rectorate Building on Wednesday evening (September 24, 2025). The event captured the attention of the academic community by showcasing a variety of student artistic creations.
Retro Artistry featured performances from various arts divisions, including music, dance, choir, painting, and the creative division. The performances complemented each other, creating a lively, energetic, and meaningful evening.
When reconfirmed, Muhammad Khoirul Arifin, Head of the Polman Babel Arts Student Activity Unit (UKM Seni), explained on Thursday (September 25, 2025) that the event concept was chosen to provide a unique atmosphere and a space for expression for each division. "Of course, there are still areas for improvement, such as time management to ensure a more organized rundown, technical evaluation of the stage and sound system, and broader promotion to increase awareness of our event," he said.
Khoirul added that he hopes this event can be the first step towards greater collaboration, both internally on campus and with external parties, so that UKM Seni can continue to grow and produce works that bring pride not only to the campus but also to the wider community.
"With gratitude and appreciation to all the committee members and members of the Arts Student Activity Unit (UKM Seni). Alhamdulillah, the Retro Artistry event went well and was filled with a spirit of togetherness. I am very proud of everyone's hard work, from the preparation stage to the implementation," he said.

Meanwhile, the Advisor of the Polman Babel Arts Student Activity Unit, Subkhan, M.T., familiarly known as Bawek, considered this activity very positive and worthy of continuation. He was impressed by the students' creativity, who were able to present works full of fresh ideas and energy," he concluded.
Furthermore, as an advisor, he fully supports the students' active creativity. Through activities like this, they not only hone their artistic skills but also develop leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence.
"Retro Artistry also serves as a forum for strengthening relationships among Arts Student Activity Unit members, as well as a healthy source of entertainment for students. "The audience seemed to enjoy every performance, from acoustic music and modern dance to the fine art exhibition," he added.
Going forward, the Arts Student Activity Unit (UKM Seni) will make the Retro Artistry event an annual event with more thorough planning and support. It is believed that it will grow into an icon of Polman Babel student art that is eagerly awaited every year," he concluded.
