Thesis Session, Supervisor Gives Praise for Student's Face Recognition System
Polman Babel - Students from the Applied Bachelor of Software Engineering Technology Study Program (TRPL), Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic are conducting a final project trial by presenting the facial recognition technology system in the ITS room, Thursday (01/08/2024).
During monitoring, students were seen testing the selection exam system for new student candidates in 2024 which will use facial recognition technology to increase fairness and transparency in the selection process.

As the student's supervisor, Riki Afriansyah., M.T. "The results of the final student project trial are very important because this technology is applied to ensure that the exam participants are truly the prospective students concerned, avoid the use of jockeys, and prevent all forms of cheating in the exam," he said.
“I am very proud of the students' achievements in completing this final project trial. "The facial recognition technology system developed shows extraordinary analytical and technical capabilities," he concluded.
"He also added that this technology makes it possible to monitor exams online by using a webcam to recognize the faces of examinees, so that they can monitor and ensure the validity of participants during the selection process," explained Riki.

Meanwhile, examining lecturer Novitasari., M.Pd. said the innovation and quality of the facial recognition system developed by students, stating that this technology shows significant progress in the field of facial recognition.
"He also suggested that although this research project shows impressive results, students should also consider data privacy and security aspects more deeply to ensure an ethical and responsible application," he concluded.
