Polman Babel Lecturer Helps Rabbit Breeders with Cost-Effective Pellet Printing Machines
Hasdiansah, M.Eng., head of the Polman Babel community service team, explained the superior features of a pellet printing machine specifically designed to reduce costs and improve the quality of animal feed to ornamental rabbit breeders in Air Ruay Village. This innovation is expected to provide a long-term solution that is pocket-friendly and supports the growth of local livestock businesses.
Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) is again making a breakthrough with its latest innovation with a special pellet printing machine designed to support ornamental rabbit breeders in Air Ruay Village, Pemali District.
Launched on Wednesday (28/08/2024) as part of a community service program, this innovation offers a solution that is not only efficient but also economical.
The lecturer team consisting of Hasdiansah, M.Eng., Zaldy Sirwansyah Suzen, M.T., Masdani, M.T., and Zulfitriyanto, M.T., together with talented students such as Marcellino, Ahlan Maulidansyah, and Thala Viniolita, showed high dedication by working directly with breeders .
"As team leader, Hasdiansah, M.Eng., said that we created this machine to facilitate the process and reduce animal feed production costs," he explained.
Even better, this machine not only speeds up pellet making, but is also equipped with a feed dryer and mixer feature which can reduce production costs by up to 30%.
"Imagine, previously production costs could reach IDR 1.5 million per month, now it can be reduced to only IDR 500 thousand!" added Hasdiansah.
Komarudin, a farmer who has tried this machine, finds it very helpful. "The food is quicker to make and the quality is better, it's really suitable for our ornamental rabbits," he said.
Apart from that, the rabbits also eat better, and grow faster and healthier.
This innovation is not only about saving costs, but also improving the quality of feed that supports optimal rabbit growth. This technology makes breeders in Air Ruay Village more confident to compete and be more productive.
Polman Babel doesn't stop here. They plan to hold training for farmers regarding machine maintenance and more efficient pellet making techniques.
