TRPL Lecturer from Polman Negeri Babel Becomes Resource Person for Cyber Security Training at SMKN 1 Airgegas
Realizing the importance of the increasingly complex digital world that demands the readiness of the younger generation in facing cybersecurity threats, SMK Negeri 1 Airgegas held a three-day Cyber Security training, May 14-16, 2025, by presenting Riki Afriansyah, a lecturer in the D4 Software Engineering Technology (TRPL) Study Program, Polman Babel, as the main resource person.
When met, Monday (05/19/2025) in his office, Riki said that this training is an important moment for teachers and students, especially those majoring in Visual Communication Design (DKV), to increase insight and skills in securing data and information in the digital era," he added.
With an interactive method, participants not only get theory, but are also directly involved in the practice of securing digital media.
"The material presented includes the basics of cybersecurity to simple cyber attack simulations. The goal is for participants to understand the risks and how to prevent them," he said.
According to him, the participants were visible from the first day. Both teachers and students followed each session enthusiastically, realizing that digital security is no longer something that can be ignored, but rather a mandatory competency in the technological era," added Riki Afriansyah.
The Principal of SMK Negeri 1 Airgegas, Muhtar Ariadi, expressed his gratitude for the holding of this training.
"We are very grateful for the presence of Mr. Riki who has shared his knowledge. This is an extraordinary first step, and we hope that there will be a continuation for the development of competencies in the future," he said.
The Head of the DKV Expertise Program, Rozi, said the same thing. He said that this training was very relevant to the world of creative industry work which is now increasingly in contact with digital security issues.
"This insight is very useful to support our students' works to be safer and more professional," he explained.
In addition to strengthening technical competencies, this training also opened up a critical discussion space regarding the ethics of data use on the internet and the threats that can arise from digital negligence. This topic was one of the most interesting sessions in the activity.
The active participation of participants indicated that SMKN 1 Airgegas students were ready to become creative people who were also technology literate and aware of cyber threats.
This is proof that synergy between vocational education and higher education is very important in responding to the challenges of the times," he said.
This activity is an inspiring first step in encouraging digital security literacy in the school environment. Hopefully, in the future there will be more similar collaborations that can equip the younger generation with practical and strategic knowledge in the field of technology," he said.
With this training, SMKN 1 Airgegas continues to adapt and prepare its graduates not only as creative people, but also as capable people in maintaining security in cyberspace," he concluded.
