Babel State Polman Take Part in the Formation of the Bangka Belitung Higher Education International Collaboration Consortium
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) participated in the activities of establishing an International Collaboration Consortium between Universities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This event took place in the Tanjung Pesona Room, Governor's Office, on Tuesday (17/12/2024).
A total of 12 campuses in the Bangka Belitung region participated in the formation of this consortium. Among them are Polman Babel, Bangka Belitung University (UBB), Muhammadiyah Bangka Belitung University (Unmuh Babel), and the Atma Luhur Institute of Science and Business (ISB).
Other universities include Pertiba University, Anak Bangsa University, IAIN Syaikh Abdurrahman Siddik, Institut Pahlawan 12, Institut Citra Internasional, STIE IBEK Pangkalpinang, Poltekkes Kemenkes Pangkalpinang, and Pangkalpinang Open University.

When met, Thursday (19/12/2024) Head of Organizational Development and Membership of FKD Babel Ir. Dedy Ramdhani Harahap, S.S.T., M.Sc.(Eng), who is also a lecturer at Polmanbabel who also initiated the birth of this consortium, said that this activity was a strategic step to build international collaboration between universities in Bangka Belitung and foreign educational institutions. "This consortium is a joint forum to utilize the foreign partners that each university has to expand global networks and cooperation," he explained.
This consortium was able to be formed because of the full support of the Babel Regional Cooperation Forum (FKD) chaired by Dr. Diah Vitaloka, S.IP., M.M., who is also a lecturer at the Sungailiat 12 Heroes Institute, is the facilitator of this activity. FKD Babel is here to bridge academic activities in implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education in Bangka Belitung.
"We are also collaborating with INTACT Base Bangka Belitung which is located on the Polman Babel campus to start collaborating with universities in Taiwan through the INTENSE Taiwan Program," added Dedy.
Through the formation of this consortium, it is hoped that universities in Bangka Belitung will be able to increase the achievements of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) in the field of international cooperation. "This is the first step to show the existence of our university on the global stage," said Dedy optimistically.
This consortium is designed to be an international collaborative development platform that includes programs such as World Class Professor, double degree programs (Joint/Dual Degree), student and staff mobility (Student/Staff Mobility Program), and summer programs (Summer Camp/Course).
Not only that, this consortium can also open up opportunities for universities to design other collaborative programs. This includes joint research, cultural exchange and training relevant to global demands.
The existence of this consortium is expected to strengthen synergy between campuses in Bangka Belitung. With a wider network, each university can maximize its academic and professional potential through cross-border collaboration.
At the end of the event, the participants were optimistic that this initiative would have a positive impact on the progress of higher education in Bangka Belitung. "This is the first step to achieve our vision of higher education that is globally competitive," he explained.
"With this consortium, Polman Babel and 11 other campuses are ready to move towards international collaboration which will bring great benefits to the academic community in Bangka Belitung," concluded Dedy Ramdhani Harahap.
