Small Steps, Big Impact, Polman Negeri Babel Lecturers Instill the Importance of Cyber Security at SMKN 1 Bakam
In an effort to improve student achievement and competence in the field of Network Security, lecturers at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) took part in training Cyber Security for students majoring in Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) at SMK Negeri 1 Bakam.
For three days, Riki was present not only as a teacher, but also as an inspirator who transmitted the spirit of sharing experiences regarding Cyber security, especially the experience of guiding students in participating in national-level competitions and as a judge for LKS
"Network security is not only a matter for big companies. These children must also understand how to protect their data, even from simple things like strong passwords," said Riki when met on Friday (01/05/2025).
In this training, Riki guides students to understand the basics of cyber security through direct practice such as Vulnerability Analysis, Attack Defense and Capture The Flag (CTF)," he said.
Riki admitted that he was impressed by the enthusiasm of SMKN 1 Bakam students who quickly grasped the material and were active in discussions. He hopes that this training will not be the last, but will be the beginning of their greater journey in the field of information technology," he concluded.
On the other hand, one of the teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Bakam, Tiassil Haviana., felt proud to be able to present a relevant learning experience directly from campus practitioners.
"This is not just training, but an opening window for our students to see the world of IT professionals," he said.
Not only that, Guru King also considered this activity as a golden opportunity to build connections between the world of secondary education and vocational higher education, in order to create graduates who are truly ready to work," he added
