Winning with a score of 3-2, Polmanbabel Volleyball Enters the Round of 16

SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. The Men's Volley Ball Team of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Negeri Babel) won with a score of 3: 2 when they competed in the ISB Atma Luhur Cup open tournament against the Gapura Kampak team on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 yesterday.
The victory brought a team consisting of Polmanbabel students and alumni into the top 16 of the competition that took part in this general category.
Polmanbabel volleyball coach, Ropi Suwandi said that Polmanbabel's participation in this open tournament was a form of Polmanbabel's participation to appear in various competitions organized by other institutions.
In addition, it is a preparation or selection for Polmanbabel students to take part in competitions between students in various events, such as sending beach volleyball at the Porseni XIII polytechnic event in Banjarmasin last July.
"In this competition, we have a target to enter the semi-finals because the competition category is general class, if the class between students from the Polmanbabel volleyball team dares to target the final," said Ropi when confirmed, Thursday (11/08/2022).
"If the match is held between students, our team is included in the competition even though there is a slight weakness in the personnel," added Ropi confidently.
The confidence of the Polmanbabel volleyball team is not without reason, but because the volleyball activities at Polmanbabel are included in the Student Activity Unit (UKM) agenda in Polmanbabel and may be followed by Polmanbabel students according to their interests and talents, the training is routinely carried out every two weeks practice times.
"For new students who are interested in joining UKM volleyball, they are welcome, anyone who is interested in joining please, this will strengthen our team," said Ropi.
"I have also seen several new students who are suitable and have the potential to become Polmanbabel's volleyball team, we will develop and train this to strengthen the team," he added.
Before winning 3:2 against the ax gate, the Polmanbabel team had competed in the preliminary round against the Tunas Muda team with a score of 3:0, then they will compete again against the xeon team on Sunday, August 14, 2022 later.
Regarding the Polmanbabel team's preparation for the next match, Ropi explained that the Polmanbabel team will train lightly to maintain stamina, physical and prioritize rest to maintain health, as well as reduce staying up late.
"I hope the team can maintain more stamina and health, there will be no heavy training because in two days we will compete again," he said.
Meanwhile, Polmanbabel Student Activity Unit (UKM) supervisor, Juanda said Polmanbabel only sent one team from the men's team to participate in the ISB Atma Luhur open tournament.
"Currently we can only send the men's team, the women's team does not participate, because apart from the lack of personnel there has also been no preparation from the women's team," explained Juanda.
"We hope that the Polmanbabel team can carry the name of Polmanbabel's alma mater in this volleyball event, losing and winning is normal but sportsmanship in competing is the main thing," he said.
Juanda added that these volleyball athletes will also be prepared to face or participate in the National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) championship which is scheduled to be scheduled for November in Padang.
"Participating in this open tournament is one way to train the mentality and team selection of students to participate in POMNAS later," said Juanda. (hms/or)
