The Babel State Police (Polman Negeri) collaborates with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to develop national character in new students at the 2025 PKKMB (Family Empowerment Program).
The second day of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) was filled with nationalist enthusiasm on Tuesday (August 5, 2025). Held in the auditorium, the atmosphere was lively as 570 new students participated in a session on national insight and national defense with members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).
Ten personnel from the 0413/Bangka Military District Command (Kodim) were present to provide materials and training to the students. This event was a key highlight of the PKKMB series, as it not only introduced campus life but also instilled national values from an early age.
Major Cpl Sudarmadi, the Pasi Rendim 0413/Bangka, served as the main speaker, equipping students with a deep understanding of the importance of national defense and emphasizing the importance of developing a strong foundation of nationalism as the younger generation.
"National insight and national defense are the foundations that the younger generation must possess. Students must be at the forefront of maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he emphasized to hundreds of new students.

The activities didn't stop in the auditorium. After the material session, students were invited to participate in interactive discipline and leadership training. "They were encouraged to recognize the importance of solidarity, responsibility, and leadership character in an academic environment," he said.
"Instill the values of leadership, solidarity, and a caring attitude within the campus environment," said Major Sudarmadi.
Physical training in the form of marching was also an interesting part of this activity. Guided directly by the Deputy Commander of Logdim 0413/Bangka, Muhammad Harahap, students were encouraged to practice concentration and cohesiveness through basic movements rich in meaning.
"Marching training is not just about movement; it also trains concentration, cohesiveness, and a sense of responsibility," he said.

The students also received a positive response. Kelvin, one of the PKKMB participants, admitted to being inspired by this national session. For him, the material and training provided by the TNI opened up new perspectives on the meaning of national defense.
"I just learned that national defense isn't just about carrying weapons, but also about attitude, discipline, and caring for others," he concluded.
Kelvin also appreciated the marching training method. He felt it was very effective in building a sense of camaraderie among students and teaching them to work together, help each other, and be selfless. "It was an extraordinary experience," he said.
