Babel State Polman Student Wins Gold Medal, XIV Indonesian Polytechnic Porseni Championship in Sprinter Branch
Polman Babel - Happiness radiated from the Polman Babel campus team when they heard the committee announce the winners on the eve of the Indonesian Polytechnic Porseni XIV championship which was held at the Malang State Polytechnic. Of the five branches they participated in, the Polman Babel team managed to win two gold medals in the men's 84 kg committee karate championship and 200 meter sprinter, and 2 bronze medals in the women's rock climbing championship, Wednesday (24/07/2023).
Director of Polman Babel, I made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D. When he heard the news of this success, he expressed his gratitude and pride. He is committed to continuing to support his students to continue to excel, both nationally and internationally.
"Thank God, I heard that our students have achieved national achievements again. "I'm happy to hear about the success, hopefully I can add more gold medals in other competitions," he concluded.

This is an extraordinary joy, especially since it succeeded in surpassing several Polytechnic campuses from all over Indonesia. Later, after returning to campus, we will welcome and give awards to the Porseni Polman Babel team contingent. "We will also continue to support our students so that they continue to excel at national and international levels," said I Made when asked to comment on the achievements of the Polman Babel team.
As Deputy Director for Student Affairs, Eko Sulistyo., M.T. as well as the leader of the Polman Babel Porseni Team also expressed his pride and happiness with this success.
"Thank God, our students are proud again, this time coming from as far away as Bangka Belitung was not in vain. They managed to win two medals. We know that this is a collection of the best finalists from Polytechnic Universities throughout Indonesia. This is a national level competition show. "It's not easy to win this event, apart from the participants being the best selected from their respective campuses, plus the judges are also very capable and professional," he explained.

Fadel Ramiro, one of the Olympic karate participants who won, when we met him at the competition location, he said he was very happy and surprised. Moreover, we actually know ourselves, we don't aim to be champions, the important thing is that we can perform optimally in that match.
“O Allah, subhanallah, this is truly an unexpected gift. This was a real surprise, we didn't expect to win two national champions, namely getting a gold medal in the sprinter competition and a bronze medal in the rock climbing competition. Moreover, our competitors are very good and cool, and they come from big campuses. "Indeed, at the beginning we felt inferior, but when we arrived we were able to do our job optimally," he said.
Thank you to the lecturers, supervisors and committee, as well as friends who have supported us. "Hopefully in the future we can improve the achievements achieved in this event and our friends at campus can continue the national achievements we have achieved," explained Fadel with a happy smile and a few tears.
A happy atmosphere could be seen radiating from all of the Polman Babel Team, including lecturers and accompanying committee members, teams and other participants. They ask for prayers from all parties, especially the academic community, so that next year we can win again.
