Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic Holds NCC 2024, Preparations Begin for Design and Manufacturing Competition
The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) is again presenting a prestigious competition, the National CAD CAM Competition (NCC), which will be held on 14-16 October 2024.
As an opening, Polman Babel held a Technical Meeting on Saturday (14/09/2024) at the Joint Lecture Building (GKB) and online via Zoom Meeting.
Of the total 122 participants who registered, 115 participants attended the Technical Meeting from all Polytechnics throughout Indonesia.
This activity is an important momentum for participants to prepare themselves for the competition which will take place in several categories. In this event, participants are required to show their best abilities in the field of design and manufacturing based on computer technology.
The NCC competition held this year includes four main categories, namely 2D Drafting, 3D Modeling, 3D Mechanical Animation, and CADCAM Milling.
Each category is designed to test participants' skills in utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) technologies which are currently the backbone of the modern manufacturing industry.

The Chief Executive of the activity, Pristiansyah, M.Eng., conveyed the importance of this competition in developing students' skills in the fields of design and manufacturing.
"We hope that this event can become a forum for participants to continue to innovate and hone their skills, both in technical and creative aspects," said Pristiansyah in his speech.
He also added that this competition is not only a competition, but also a means to introduce the latest technology used in the manufacturing industry and to build friendships with fellow Polytechnics.
"Through NCC, we want to equip students with skills that are relevant to today's industrial needs," he continued.
Participants who took part in the Technical Meeting seemed enthusiastic in listening to explanations regarding the rules and technicalities of the competition. They were also given the opportunity to ask questions about technical details, so that each participant could better understand the important aspects in each competition category.
Apart from that, Pristiansyah also emphasized that transparency and professionalism are the main priorities in organizing this competition. All judging processes will be carried out objectively, and the final results will be announced according to the criteria determined by a panel of judges who are experienced in the fields of CAD and CAM.
The winners from each category will receive awards prepared by the committee. Apart from that, they also have the opportunity to gain recognition at the national level and the opportunity to develop careers in the manufacturing industry.
In closing, Pristiansyah hopes that all participants can make the most of this opportunity. "I am sure that this competition will provide valuable experience and be a good first step for those who want to develop themselves in the industrial world," he concluded.
"With this event, Polman Babel continues to demonstrate its support for the development of technology and student skills in the manufacturing sector, in line with its vision of producing graduates who are competitive and ready to compete in the global market," he concluded.
