Creative and Resilient, Mahacita Polman Negeri Babel Ready to Carve Out Success in the 16th Competition
The State Manufacturing Polytechnic of Bangka Belitung (Polman Babel) is not only known for its excellence in technology and manufacturing, but also as a place where the spirit of caring for nature grows. One of them is realized through the routine activities of the Mahacita Student Activity Unit (UKM), which actively holds the Cross-Country Competition every year.
This year, the Mahacita Cross-Country Competition is entering its 16th edition. The activity is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Pantai Rebo area, Bangka. This event is open to the public and is targeted to be attended by more than 100 participating teams from various backgrounds, ranging from students, students, to nature lover communities.
When confirmed on Friday (5/23/2025), the Advisor of the Mahacita UKM, Pristiansyah, M.T., said that this activity is a form of Mahacita's consistency in educating the community, especially the younger generation, to be closer and care about the surrounding environment.
"Through this competition, we want to instill the values of love for nature, teamwork, and the spirit of exploring and surviving in the outdoors. This is not just a physical endurance competition, but also about character," he added.
He also advised all participants to prioritize safety and preserve the environment while participating in the competition. Do not leave trash on the track, bring back what you bring in. Be a true nature lover, not just a nature enthusiast," he added.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the 16th Mahacita Cross-Country Competition, Reinaldo Deski, explained that this year's theme carries the spirit of "Kavita asmaraloka". This theme, according to him, is a reminder that nature exploration must always be accompanied by a sense of responsibility for its preservation.
"The route we have prepared this year is quite challenging but still friendly for beginners. We have surveyed and ensured the safety of the track," explained Reinaldo.
He added that the committee also worked with related parties such as SAR and PMI for event security and participants returned home with a pleasant experience and increased insight," he said.
Through this activity, Mahacita Polman Babel hopes to continue to inspire the younger generation to contribute to preserving nature, while strengthening the image of Polman Babel as a campus that not only focuses on academics, but is also active in social and environmental activities," he concluded.
