Sharpening CAD Skills, the Mechanical Engineering Student Association of Polman Negeri Babel Successfully Holds the 2026 Machine Time Competition
The competitive spirit and innovation of students were once again evident at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic. The Mechanical Engineering Student Association (HMJ) successfully held the 2026 Machine Time Competition, which took place in CAD Room 1 on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
The event provided a platform for students to showcase their best skills in engineering design and mechanical engineering. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from the beginning of the competition until its conclusion.
The 2026 Machine Time Competition featured two main categories: 3D Modeling and 2D Drafting. A total of nine participants participated in the competition, which proceeded in a calm and smooth atmosphere.

The Chief Executive, Yunadi, when met on Wednesday (June 10, 2026), explained that the Machine Time Competition is a competition held by the Mechanical Engineering Department to improve student competency in their chosen fields.
The goal of this competition is to challenge participants to complete various engineering design assignments according to standards, with accuracy, creativity, and speed being key factors in determining the outcome.
"Because the Machine Time Competition provides a platform for students to innovate and develop their potential in the field of mechanical engineering," he added.
In addition to being a means of developing competencies, this competition is also expected to hone students' skills in facing various competitions, both online and offline," he concluded.

Yunadi added that the experience of participating in competitions is crucial for building self-confidence and training participants' mental toughness so they don't get nervous easily when competing off-campus.
Although still on a modest scale, this activity is a good first step, giving students the opportunity to try out their skills, assess their abilities, and prepare for larger competitions," he said.
