Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) continues to be committed to improving the competence of its students by holding training in writing Simple Patent Drafting on Thursday (05/09/2025). This training is designed to strengthen students' understanding of intellectual property rights and the importance of protecting their innovations.

"Yang Fitri Arriyani, M.T., continued with an explanation of the stages of invention protection, including idea exploration, patent search (prior art), patentability analysis, patent drafting, and patent submission. Each stage has an important role in ensuring that our ideas and innovations are protected," she explained. , while emphasizing the importance of understanding patent regulations at national and international levels.
Responding to student enthusiasm, Polman Babel plans to hold more in-depth follow-up training. "We want to continue to support students in developing their ideas and innovations. The next training will probably focus on more complex patent writing techniques and patent commercialization strategies," said Yang Fitri.
Aan Febriansyah, M.T., added that writing a patent is not only about drafting legal documents, but also about presenting innovation in an interesting and convincing way. "We want students to understand how to communicate their ideas well through patent documents," he said.
Indra Dwi Saputra, M.T., stated that this training did not only take the form of lectures, but also involved simulations and direct practice. "Participants are invited to draft their own patents with direct guidance from the speakers, so that they can understand the process and challenges in writing a patent," he explained.
"With various initiatives such as this patent drafting training, Polman Babel continues to strengthen its role as an educational institution that focuses on technological innovation and developing quality human resources, as well as pushing the boundaries of innovation to create graduates who are work-ready and ready to create," he stressed.

Selvi Mellani, one of the students who took part in the training, said that this training opened her insight into the importance of legal protection for innovation. "I have a better understanding of the steps that must be taken to protect my work," he said.
