Polman Negeri Babel Welcomes 570 New Students Through the 2025 PKKMB Over Five Days
The Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) officially began today, Monday (August 4, 2025). This annual event serves as a starting point for new students to explore the campus world, which is very different from their previous school days.
A total of 570 new students from various study programs enthusiastically participated in the event. This year's PKKMB, scheduled to last five days until Friday (August 8, 2025), was held in the Polman Babel campus auditorium.
The opening ceremony was also attended by lecturers and representatives from each department. The presence of these teaching staff boosted the enthusiasm of the participants, most of whom were still adapting to their new environment.

The Director of Polman Babel, I Made Andik Setiawan, M.Eng., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of students' roles as independent, critical, and responsible individuals in his remarks. "You are no longer high school students. You have entered a higher level of education." "Students must be able to think for themselves, know what's right and wrong, and be responsible in solving problems," he added.
I Made also emphasized that the world of campus is not just a place to learn theory, but also a place to develop oneself holistically, both in thinking, organizing, and contributing to society.
"This is where you will be forged into professionals ready to enter the industrial world," he added.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining ethics, discipline, and a passion for learning throughout your studies. "What you cultivate today will be the foundation for your future," he said.
During the program, new students will receive various important materials, ranging from national insight, an introduction to campus life, academic culture, to anti-bullying and intolerance outreach. "The entire PKKMB program is designed to shape the character of students who are resilient and ready to face the challenges of the times," he concluded.
One of the new students, Haikal Aziz, from SMK Negeri 2 Pangkalpinang, expressed his enthusiasm for participating in the PKKMB. "This activity is very important for me, as I've just started college. I've gained a lot of new information, and I'm better prepared to start campus life," he said.
Haikal also expressed his excitement about participating in the five-day PKKMB program.
"From morning to afternoon, all the material presented broadened my horizons. I also enjoyed meeting new friends from various regions," he said.

According to Yuda, the Head of the Polman Babel Student Executive Board (BEM), this year's PKKMB activities not only emphasized campus introductions but also fostered a collaborative spirit among students. "Several interactive activities, such as educational games, group discussions, and academic simulations, were also included in the schedule," he explained.
As the first day of PKKMB concluded, the atmosphere at the Polman Babel campus felt lively and full of new energy. The new students seemed to be looking forward to the days ahead, delving deeper into the campus world they would be experiencing for the next few years," he concluded.
