Polman Negeri Babel Becomes a Target for Industry, PT Yokogawa Indonesia Recruits Student Alumni
Recruitment activities are once again thriving at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel). This time, PT Yokogawa Indonesia participated in a campus hiring event held at the Joint Lecture Building on Thursday, April 9, 2026, as part of its efforts to attract qualified graduates from the vocational school.
This opportunity presents a golden opportunity for alumni to enter the industrial world. Twenty-three alumni participated in the selection process, demonstrating their high enthusiasm and readiness to compete professionally before the company's recruitment team.
The participants who participated in the selection process were alumni who had passed the administrative selection process. They then proceeded to the next stage, a written test and interview, which are the key determinants of the recruitment process.
The selection process was competitive. Each participant strived to demonstrate their best abilities, from mastery of theory to mental preparedness for the interview session, which was a major focus for the company.
When contacted again on Friday (April 10, 2026), Jeni, a member of the PT Yokogawa Indonesia recruitment team, expressed her appreciation for the collaboration with the university. She assessed that the coordination between Polman Babel and the university had been excellent.
"We thank the university for their excellent coordination and their willingness to welcome our company's applications. The candidates who attended were also well-suited to the majors we needed," she said.
Furthermore, Jeni explained that, in general, the participants met the company's qualification standards. However, there was one aspect that still needed improvement: English language skills, which support communication in the global workplace.
"We are currently awaiting the results of the written test and interview. We will then announce the number of participants who have passed and will be able to join the company," she added.
Jeni emphasized that successful candidates must demonstrate optimal work readiness and adapt quickly to the industrial environment.
"I am confident that Polman Babel graduates have excellent practical skills. They are usually quick to respond and adapt easily once they enter the workforce," she said.
Meanwhile, Harwadi, M.Ed., Head of the Academic Support Unit for Career Development and Entrepreneurship at Polman Babel, assessed that the presence of PT Yokogawa Indonesia is a strategic step in opening up job opportunities for alumni, especially in industrial areas like Batam," he explained.
Furthermore, career opportunities in Batam's industrial sector are highly relevant to the competencies of Polman Babel graduates. He advised successful participants to continue developing themselves, and for those who were not successful, he advised them not to be discouraged, as the university will continue to provide job opportunities through collaborations with various companies," he concluded.
