Career Center and Cooperation Holds Career Development for Students
Student Career Development Activities in the Presentation Room, Wednesday 19 October 2022
SUNGAILIAT_POLMANBABEL. The Center for Career and Cooperation of the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Negeri Babel) held career development activities and student insights in commemorating the 28th anniversary of the Polman Negeri Babel in the presentation room, Wednesday 19 October 2022.
The agenda of this activity is carried out for career development and psychological development for Polman Negeri Babel students in order to increase the soft skills of students.
A total of 70 students who attended were representatives of all classes from two majors in the Polman Negeri Babel, namely the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Electrical and Informatics Engineering.
Head of the Center for Career and Cooperation of the Polman Negeri Babel, Dedy Ramdani Harahap said this activity consisted of three sessions filled with different and competent speakers in their fields.
For the first session, the material was given by Hadied Safarayuza as Head of Operations of Markija online which is the operator for the Hungarian internship program in collaboration with Markija and the Directorate of Vocational Education Kemendikburistek.
The material given by Markija was about an overseas internship program for students with a talent pool program.
"Through the Markija Polman talent pool program, Babylon has sent internship students to Hungary in three waves, two-year internships in Hungary," said Dedy (19/10).
He continued, this year Markija conducted a talent pool socialization specifically for Polman Negeri Babel students, both to active students and students who had graduated or alumni to take part in the Markija program.
"Many foreign partner companies have collaborated with Markija and are ready to recruit Polmanbabel students or alumni through the talent pool program," he said.
According to Dedy, the materials and programs presented by Markija are very good for students so that students have insight and mature career planning while studying at the Polman Negeri Babel so that after students finish their education they already know where to pursue their careers, both domestically and abroad.
"One of the careers abroad is an internship in Hungary which is a collaboration between Markija and the Polman Negeri Babel," said Dedy.
Then the student career development activities were continued in the second session, namely the psychological debriefing session with the aim of forming a mindset of change for the students of the Polman Negeri Babel, especially active students and alumni.
Dedy hopes that through psychological training, students can have a good understanding of career planning, know themselves, and know the type of work they will pursue after completing their education at Polman Negeri Babel.
The resource persons were attended directly by psychologists and also a lecturer at the Islamic University of Jogyakarta Nur Widiasmara by giving explanations about career inspiration, career development for students.
From this resource person, Dedy said that the insight provided by the presenters was very good, especially regarding how each student was directed to first identify themselves first and then how to track jobs that matched their potential.
Dedy continued the third session of the career development agenda and student insights with the arrival of guests from PT. ThorCon Power Indonesia is an energy company based in the United States that gives public lectures on renewable energy, namely nuclear technology.

"Students are very enthusiastic about receiving material from ThorCon, this really adds insight for these change agents about nuclear," said Dedy.
Dedy added, through joint activities with ThorCon, it is hoped that students will have new insights that currently Bangka Belitung has natural resources that are very potential to be developed and also researched together, considering that renewable energy is one of the government issues that can be developed in polytechnics.
In the future Polman Negeri Babel will establish a partnership with ThorCon related to career development, recruitment and development in the field of research that can be carried out for students and institutions Polman Negeri Babel.
“The National Polman Negeri Babel will sign a cooperation agreement with PT. ThorCon for career development activities and public lectures, is planned to be held in February," said Dedy.
Meanwhile, the Director of Operations of PT. ThorCon Power Indonesia, Bob S Effendi would like to thank the Polman Negeri Babel for inviting and welcoming the ThorCon group to this public lecture.
In addition, he said that the nuclear power plant is a high-risk plant, not dangerous, there is a lot of misinformation or misunderstanding that is widely spread in the community regarding nuclear power.
According to Bob, nuclear is sunnatullah energy that has been determined by God Almighty for the widest possible benefit for mankind.
Bob Effendi gave a public lecture to Polman Negeri Babel students with the theme "Nuclear Energy as Universal Energy".
He hopes that with the exposure of the stigma about nuclear, students can understand and understand that the development of nuclear power will be able to move the economic sector because energy is well supplied.
In addition, technical lectures were also carried out by Engineering and Thermal Hydraulys Junior Manager, Elvira F Tanjung with the title "The Roles of Engineers in Nuclear Industry", with a discussion on the roles of engineers in the nuclear industry.
This public lecture was attended by the Polman Negeri Babel students with enthusiasm and various questions about nuclear. hms
