The TTG Team of Babel State Police Lecturers, Visited the Basel Regency Bapelitbangda Office
Polman Babel - Lecturers at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic received an invitation to visit the Research and Service agenda at the BAPELITBANGDA office, South Bangka Regency with the Appropriate Technology program, Thursday (19/10/2023).
This visit was welcomed by the head of the office and his staff, apart from that, other invited participants from the Department of Agriculture, UMKM, village heads and industrial entrepreneurs in South Bangka Regency were also present.
Pristiansyah., M.Eng. and Boy Rollastin., M.T. together with a team from the mechanical engineering department were the lecturers selected for the invitation.
As Head of the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Study Program, Boy Rollastin., M.T. presented Appropriate Technology in the form of sweet potato pulling machines and fertilizer spreading machines used by rice farmers.
"He explained that there is a type of technology that suits the needs of its users, which includes small scale, energy saving, and is related to local conditions and that Appropriate Technology is designed and created to help make farmers' work easier while increasing its economic value," he said.

Apart from that, Pristiansyah., M.Eng. also revealed that appropriate technology is modern technology. "This is done by being able to adapt easily in using it, especially appropriate technology in the agricultural sector, apart from that in developing agricultural systems, both in terms of marketing and developing appropriate technology, as well as participating in the modernization of agricultural equipment to make it more appropriate," he added.
Furthermore, the head of the South Bangka Regency BAPELITBANGDA office, Ir. Herman, Sp., M.Eng. said that I was very grateful to the Polman Babel lecturers who accepted the invitation for this visit, as well as being able to provide the benefits and uses of appropriate technology to the participants who attended.
"This is additional knowledge for us, in the appropriate technology program that has been presented, hopefully it will be useful especially for farmers in South Bangka Regency," he explained.
