Internship Preparations Underway, Fourth-Semester Students of Polman Negeri Babel Receive Socialization
The Internship Committee Team at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic held a socialization event for the internship and Field Work Practice (PKL) program for Diploma III students. This activity aimed to provide an initial understanding of preparation for internships in the industrial world.
The socialization took place in the campus auditorium on Friday (February 20, 2026). It proceeded smoothly, with approximately 170 fourth-semester students in attendance. They came from various Diploma III study programs and will be entering internships in the following semester.
The study programs involved included Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, and Machine Maintenance and Repair Engineering. In addition to students, the event was also attended by the heads of departments and academic advisors from each study program.
Without delay, the Head of the Academic Support Unit for Career Development and Entrepreneurship at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic, Harwadi, M.Ed., delivered a presentation regarding the regulations and stages of internship preparation.
He explained that internship preparations begin when students are in their fourth semester. The internship, or PKL, officially begins in the fifth semester at a designated company.
Furthermore, students are required to complete all academic requirements before the internship. These requirements include completing the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) program and the obligation to pay academic compensation.
"Students who do not meet these requirements will not be permitted to participate in the internship program to maintain their quality and preparedness for the industrial environment," he added.
Through this outreach, it is hoped that students can prepare themselves academically and mentally. With a thorough understanding, students are expected to be able to complete their internship optimally and professionally," he concluded.
